Set up your account

Tap Sign Up, select Coach and complete your details. Confirm your email if prompted, then log in.

Independent coaches can leave Organisation Code blank. To join a club, enter the code supplied by your Club Manager. Your membership requires their approval.

You can also join later through Settings → Club connection → Request to Join.

Start your first analysis

1. From your dashboard, tap Start Analysis.
2. Tap Load Video 1 and select a video from Photos.
3. Wait for importing to finish. Keep SkillSkope open while it prepares the footage.
4. Choose Single View to review one clip, or Compare View and Load Video 2 to add another.

To replace footage, tap the photo icon on the relevant video panel. Replacing a clip clears its synchronisation mark.

Find the controls

On iPad, the timeline sits below the videos, with Video Tools and Coach Notes on the right.

On iPhone, use the view menu at the top. Scroll below the videos to open Video Tools, Coach Notes or Library. In portrait, comparison videos appear one above the other. Tap Done to close a panel.

Review movement closely

• Play or pause: use the playback controls.
• Find a moment: drag the timeline position control.
• Slow playback: open Video Tools → Speed and choose a speed from 0.25x to 1.0x.
• Examine a frame: pause, then use Back or Forward in Video Tools.
• Adjust the view: use the clip’s crop control, then pinch or drag to reposition it.

Tip: Watch at normal speed first to understand the rhythm, then slow down the part you want to examine.

Compare two clips

Compare helps you examine differences between attempts. Align the same movement event in each clip—for example, take-off, first contact or release.

1. Load both videos and choose Compare View.
2. If the timelines are linked, tap Unsync.
3. Find the matching moment in Video 1 and tap the flag numbered 1.
4. Find the equivalent moment in Video 2 and tap the flag numbered 2.
5. Tap Sync, shown by the link icon.
6. Tap Play or drag the shared timeline to review both clips together.

Mark 1 / Mark 2

Set each video’s matching moment. Tap again to remove the mark.

Play / Pause

Start or pause playback.

Sync / Unsync

Link or separate the timelines.

Reset

Return to the matched start when both marks exist; otherwise return clips to their beginnings.

To change a mark, unsync, tap its flag to remove it, move to the new frame and mark again. Then tap Sync.

Pre-roll, in Video Tools, adds available footage before the matching moment so you can see the preparation.

Example: Match take-off in two jumps, then review how preparation and landing differ.

Use Overlay

Overlay places Video 2 over Video 1 so you can compare positions and movement paths.

1. Set matching moments and tap Sync.
2. Select Overlay.
3. Adjust Overlay opacity until both videos are visible.
4. If needed, use a clip’s crop control to pinch or drag it into position.
5. Play or move through the shared timeline.

Lower opacity makes Video 2 more transparent. Selecting Overlay alone does not synchronise the clips.

Example: Overlay two throws filmed from the same position to examine changes around release.

Tip: Use footage with similar camera angles and framing. If the views differ substantially, Compare View is usually clearer.

Add coaching feedback

Draw on the video

Pause, tap the pencil icon and mark the area you want to discuss. Use Undo to remove the latest drawing.

Save an important moment

1. Pause at the moment.
2. Tap the timeline marker pin.
3. Enter a short name and choose the video if prompted.
4. Add an optional note and choose a colour.
5. Enable Attach visible annotations if the drawings should appear at this moment.
6. Tap Save Marker.

Select a marker and choose Go to Marker to revisit it.

Good to know: Timeline markers save coaching points. The numbered flags set the timing used to synchronise videos.

Add notes or audio

In Coach Notes, tap Text, write your feedback and choose Save Notes.

Tap Record for a voice memo, allow microphone access if prompted, then tap Stop. Use Play memo to check it.

Save and organise

You can save an analysis with one or two clips. Save a new analysis before leaving the workspace.

1. Tap Save Session to open Save Analysis.
2. Enter an analysis name.
3. Select an athlete file, or use New Athlete to create one.
4. Tap Save Analysis.

Reopen saved work from the athlete’s file, recent analyses or Library Storage.

For longer-term work, create a Technical Focus file within an athlete’s file. Use Add Analysis to group saved analyses around a theme such as “Landing control” or “Release timing”.

Saved analyses and original footage remain on your device. Sharing sends a separate delivery copy.

Share with an athlete

First, connect the athlete’s local file to their account:

1. Open the athlete’s file.
2. Tap Connect Existing Athlete File.
3. Select the correct athlete.

Then share your saved analysis:

1. Open Coach Notes → Review & Share.
2. Check the recipient.
3. Tap Share with the athlete’s name.
4. Wait for Shared successfully.

Sharing requires an internet connection. The athlete receives the delivery videos and included drawings, markers, notes and voice memo. Your feedback is view-only for the athlete.

Use Remove Shared Copy from the shared analysis’s options to withdraw access. Your local saved analysis remains on the device.

Set up your athlete account

Tap Sign Up, select Athlete and complete your details, including your date of birth. Confirm your email if prompted, then log in.

Version 1 requires account holders to be 13 or older.

If you have a club code, enter it during setup. You can also join later through Settings → Club connection → Request to Join. Your Club Manager must approve the request.

Open your coach’s feedback

Shared analyses appear on your dashboard. Unread feedback may display NEW.

1. Select an analysis.
2. Read Coach Notes.
3. Tap Play voice memo if a recording is included.
4. Review the listed timeline markers.
5. Tap Open Full Analysis to watch the videos.

Review the video

In the full analysis viewer, you can play the clips, step through frames or adjust playback speed. For a comparison, use Replay from sync to return to the matching point. Open marker feedback and tap Go to Marker to revisit a coaching moment.

Shared feedback is labelled Coach analysis • View only. You can review your coach’s drawings, markers and notes, but cannot change them.

Tip: Read the main coaching point first, then watch the relevant moment. Choose one thing to focus on in your next attempt.

Start personal analysis

To review your own footage, tap Start Personal Analysis or Start Analysis on your dashboard.

Import your video, then use Single View, Compare View or Overlay. Follow the coach guide’s analysis instructions for playback and comparison controls.

You can save a personal analysis with one or two clips. Tap Save Session, enter a name, select an athlete file and tap Save Analysis. Personal analysis is separate from the view-only feedback your coach sends.

Set up your club

Tap Sign Up, select Club Manager and complete your account and club details. Confirm your email if prompted, then log in.

Your dashboard provides access to the community code, membership requests, coaches, athletes and squads.

Invite members

Share a club code

Find Community Code on your dashboard and tap Share Code.

Members enter it during account creation or through Settings → Club connection. New requests require your approval.

Send email invitations

1. Tap Invite Members or Send Invitations.
2. Enter email addresses and choose a default role.
3. Add an optional message.
4. Tap Review List and check each person’s address and role.
5. Use Preview Email if needed.
6. Tap Send Invitations.

You can include up to 100 recipients per send.

Approve membership requests

Find pending requests on your dashboard. Check each person and their requested role, then select Approve or Reject.

Approval activates membership. Assigning members to squads is a separate step.

Organise squads

Squads control which coaches can view and share analyses with each athlete.

1. Open the squads area and tap New Squad.
2. Enter a squad name.
3. Select the active coaches and athletes.
4. Tap Create Squad.

To make changes, open the squad, choose Edit Members, adjust the selection and tap Save Changes. Members can belong to more than one squad.
